This camera adapter allows you to easily attach your camera to a telescope to allow you use it for astrophotography.
It is constructed of metal and is hence ideal for large and heavy cameras and also for camcorders. It can be used with cameras having a front of lens to photo thread distance of a maximum of just under 140mm.
Usually cameras with a fixed lens will be used, but you can of course also attach SLR cameras if you want to shoot directly through the lens. Here, the 1.25" eyepiece is clamped in place via a compression ring.
The eyepiece can be positioned parallel to the lens via a metal rod with a length of 120mm. The rod can be clamped in any position.
The adapter is 185mm in length. The adjustment range is approximately 120mm. Your camera is attached to a ¼" photo screw on a small round block of about 20mm in length. There is a rubber spacer between the camera and attachment which protects the bottom of the camera from scratches. This adapter is universally applicable and one need not worry about having the appropriate thread for a specific camera.
The principle is simple: Attach camera - attach eyepiece - take pictures!
