The Altair pier adapter is used to secure the EQ8 mount or the GM1000 to your Altair SkyShed Pier (early pre 2014) or Starbase tripod.
It can also be used for attaching the mount to a self-built pier. The smooth surface makes adjustment easier.
Product feature summary:
- CNC machined from solid aluminium, anodised to ensure corrosion protection. 6x corrosion resistant stainless steel bolts are included.
- Fits the Altair/SkyShed 8” Steel Adjustable Pier or Starbase tripod without any drilling.
- For attaching to the pier, six stainless steel M8 nuts are necessary (user supplied)
- The existing hole pattern on Altair Piers is the same as the Meade LX200.
- The Altair pier adapter be used on any flat surface with the correct holes, such as a home made pier of your own.
- six countersunk holes for M8 bolts, arrange with 130 mm PCD additional holes (mostly threaded) for attaching the EQ8 mount
- Pleasing to the eye in anodised aluminium, complementing the crisp lines of the laser-cut 8” Altair-SkyShed Pier and the Altair TMS product range.
Note: Fur the use of the mount with newer Skyshed piers, the adapter is not necessary, but it will make attaching and adjusting the mount easier.
